The prestigious award "Visa Iskorak", for journalistic excellence, professionalism and reporting on the artistic dance in Serbia, has been given to the cultural editorial office of online media Nova.rs this year. The articles and texts on this portal about the Belgrade Dance Festival contributed to its recognition and reputation for which the organizers of the Festival and Visa, the general sponsor of one of the most important art events in our country, thanked them.
In the decision explanation, the exceptional cooperation with this media was emphasized, as well as its commitment to the artistic dance, which Nova.rs continuously brings closer to the citizens of Serbia and the region thanks to its reporting.
Vladimir Djordjevic, general manager of Visa for Southeast Europe, the company which also proudly sponsors this prestigious award, presented a recognition to the editor of the cultural section of the portal Nova.rs, Milojko Bozovic.
"We are pleased to have the opportunity to continue supporting culture in Serbia through the partnership with Belgrade Dance Festival as Visa is committed to the excellence of technical performance and security, which we promise to hundreds of millions of people around the globe, enabling individuals, events, businesses and economies to thrive. I believe that our support to the Festival has shown these values in the best possible manner, as the people have been able to witness many wonderful plays from some of the finest world's artists. We were also able to read great articles about it in the media, for which I would especially like to thank Nova.rs on the quality reporting, and to congratulate them on the "Visa iskorak" award. We will keep on encouraging commitment of the media to the topic, and to contribute to the popularization of events which connect people", Vladimir Djordjevic said.
On behalf of the journalists and the entire team, which reported from the Belgrade Dance Festival, Božović thanked and said that he hopes this will be an impulse for other colleagues who care about the popularization of cultural events in Serbia.
„Our idea was to show that culture in the media, as well as culture in society in general, needs to be faught for on a daily basis, and not to act as if it is something that is taken for granted. You can fight only with good articles, interesting interviews, timely information. We are reporting on the Belgrade Dance Festival with dedication, because even in the years of general postponement and cancellation of cultural events, its programs have enabled us to have stories with great artists, important world choreographers and contemporary dance stars“, said Milojko Bozovic, editor of the cultural section of the media outlet Nova.rs.
As part of this award, Matija Jovandić, journalist of the cultural rubric of Nova.rs, will have the opportunity to visit Paris and the Chaillot National Theater and the Teatro de la Ville during this year, as soon as the epidemiological situation allows.
„At a time when cultural rubrics in the media are closing down or their space is being brutally reduced, as well as journalists’ interest and acuity for those topics, culture editorial office of the portal Nova.rs is one of the last bright spot of reporting on art and artistic content, through announcement, monitoring and criticism. We are grateful for the interviews with artists, whose arrival in Serbia was an event that will be remembered, as well as for interesting and professional articles, for the audience who came to the theater! We are grateful for the titles which managed to intrigue all those who never understood the artistic dance, for the great photos and placement that takes us far for a moment ... So far that we think we live in a better time or in a place where culture is important, and dealing with culture makes sense“, said Aja Jung, director of the Belgrade Dance Festival.
At the same time, the Belgrade Dance Festival will provide interviews with leading choreographers in order to gather new information in the field of contemporary dance.
